Why We Exist

Turning Pain Into Purpose

Charlene’s Circle of Support (CCOS) was founded in 2023 by three sisters, known as Charlene’s Girls, who experienced the reality of growing up with a parent facing mental illness, substance use, and incarceration. Raised by their grandmother and supported by relatives, they learned the power of love, resilience, and support.

After Charlene’s unexpected passing in 2018, Charlene’s Girls made it their mission to carry on her legacy of strength, love, and second chances—creating a space where every child has a Circle of Support.

Our Beloved Mother Charlene

Charlene was a strong-minded woman and was never afraid to express herself. She was extremely resourceful and lived to help others in any way possible.

Despite her struggles with mental illness, addiction, and incarceration, Charlene refused to let those struggles define who she was. Instead, she demonstrated unwavering strength and resilience, never stopping to show up for her children.  Her life was a testament to growth, second chances, and the power of never giving up.

Today, her legacy lives on through our mission and in every life touched by Charlene’s Circle of Support.

  • Advocacy: Amplifying their voices in the community.
